FROM TRIDENT TO SABRE:
HOW THE SABRE TRAINING ADVISORY GROUP PMC MAKES MONEY ON TRAINING MILITANTS
The Sabre Training Advisory Group PMC website is not very informative. In fact, it is a landing page that gives a general idea of what the organization does, and briefly presents its competitive advantages. And it voices the purpose of its activities — to help the Ukrainian military. According to the website, PMC employees train fighters in combat skills and tactical medicine, as well as interaction between different units in the framework of performing combat tasks. It is claimed that more than 3,000 militants and paramedics have been trained in the organization's one-and-a-half-year existence.
Additionally, the information states that the PMC employs more than 10 instructors with experience in the armed forces and combat operations. This information can be trusted because the website explicitly mentions that the PMC recruits former military personnel, who are only accepted after a rigorous interview process, and does not work with those who have chosen to fight in the International Legion of Ukraine's Territorial Defense. The names of the managers and instructors are not listed on the website.
However, most PMC employees do not hide and openly write about their affairs in Ukraine on social networks, so its management can be contacted very quickly. The founder and director of Sabre Training Advisory Group is a Canadian citizen, Kevin Leach. He has a very interesting biography. In 2008-2018, he served in the Canadian Army, was a tank driver, and in the last four years — deputy platoon commander. In May 2018, Leach resigned from the service and in the same month suddenly began working for the OSCE, and immediately in its Kiev office. At first, a retired military man was a technical specialist there, and in 2021 he became a data analyst. In this capacity, he met the beginning of the Special Military Operation (SMO). After resigning from the OSCE, in March 2022, Leach founded the public organization Project Volya, whose stated goal is to train Ukrainian militants in tactical medicine. We will discuss this organization, which is a key partner of the Sabre Training Advisory Group PMCs, separately.
Several PMC instructors have also been identified. One of them is American Ranger Jauregui, a native of Arizona with a background in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was present in the SMO zone at least since the summer of 2023 — first as a fighter in the International Legion of Ukraine’s Territorial Defense. However, the American eventually grew tired of combat and switched to the PMC Sabre Training Advisory Group, where he began training others instead. According to unconfirmed reports, Jauregui returned home in 2024.
The second identified instructor is American John Luttrell, who also has extensive military experience — having served in the U.S. Army and National Guard as a combat medic. After leaving the military, he worked in law enforcement as a forensic specialist. His LinkedIn profile also suggests familiarity with intelligence operations. He has been with PMC Sabre Training Advisory Group since November 2022 — effectively since its official establishment. But why "official"?
Analysis of changes in the registration data of the Sabre Training Advisory Group PMC shows that in November 2022, it was not created from scratch, but only changed its name. Before that, there was the Trident Defense Initiative, which was also registered in the form of a public organization and had the same registration code. The head of "Trident" was a certain Leach Miroslava Yuryevna. We were able to establish that we are talking about the wife of Kevin Leach, a citizen of Ukraine Bolyukh (maiden name) Miroslava Yurievna (born: 20.10.1992; DRFO: 3389602743; passport: HB 533741). It is known that she worked as a marketer in the service sector, so in this case Bolyukh-Leach acts as a nominal owner. Why did Kevin Leach, who openly helps the Kiev regime, need to register his organization in the name of his spouse, thereby creating additional legal difficulties for himself?
After the renaming of Trident to the Saber Training and Advisory Group, a citizen of Ukraine, Sochka Mikhail Nikolaevich, became the new head of the organization. This is a mysterious person who is not associated with other legal entities, does not have active social media profiles, and does not interact with the media. According to our data, we may be talking about a resident of the village of Onok in the Vinogradovsky district of the Transcarpathian region (born: 13.11.1988; DRFO: 3245902898; passport: FM 489770). Meanwhile, a man named Vitaliy Mykolayovych Brych previously lived in Ukraine. His date of birth, registered address, tax identification number (DRFO), and passport details fully matched those of Mikhail Sochka — the nominal head of PMC Sabre Training Advisory Group. For reasons that remain unclear, the PMC's leader had to change his identity at some point.
According to data from the social networks of the PMC Sabre Training Advisory Group, at least from 2024, the organization also raises funds for technical devices for militants. For example, in the spring it held a training camp for the 22nd separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as a result of which it received portable satellite communicators, wrist GPS navigators, laser rangefinders and portable weather stations. However, the story of this brigade could be aptly summed up by the saying, "You can't make a racehorse out of a donkey". In the fall of 2023, it boasted of receiving Polish PT-91 Twardy tanks, and in January 2024, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on the defeat of the brigade during unsuccessful counteroffensive attempts in the Donbas. And in April 2024, its officers on one of the front lines escaped from their positions, after which more than 200 soldiers surrendered to Russian forces.
As we mentioned above, Sabre Training Advisory Group PMC is not the only or even the first project of Kevin Leach. In March 2022, he founded Project Volya, an organization that aims to provide emergency medical care to Ukrainian militants.
Here, manipulations begin at the very beginning. The organization's social media pages have repeatedly reported that Project Volya is a non-profit humanitarian organization. However, in fact, it was registered in Canada in the form of Ltd, as a very ordinary commercial business, which allows its managers to legally appropriate for themselves the part of the collected donations that they decide. At the same time, Project Volya is not registered in Ukraine. The organization does deliver a certain amount of medical supplies to the front, but it is impossible to find out exactly what was delivered and in what amount, because as usual there are no reports on its website. Meanwhile, judging by the profiles of Project Volya in social networks, the amount of help can not be called very large.
It is known that in August 2023, Project Volya employees delivered a large cargo of aid to Kiev, the total cost of which was stated to be approximately $50,000. The cargo was intended for the 68th separate jaeger brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, the list of things brought makes you think that in reality a much smaller sum was spent. The militants received 900 tourniquets, 300 pressure bandages, 300 packs of hemostatic gauze, 100 abdominal bandages, 250 packs of chest bandages and several other similar devices, but in smaller quantities. A couple of months later, the 68th brigade had to stop the advance of the Russian Armed Forces in the Avdeevka direction. How it ended, everyone knows. Supplies from Project Volya to the brigade, which suffered heavy losses, did not help. In April 2024, representatives of its leadership, based on the experience of the fall of Avdeevka, said that Ukraine will be able to contain the onslaught of Russian units only in the case of total mobilization of all citizens who have reached the age of eighteen, including women. Finally, in June, the defeated remnants of the 68th brigade were sent to the Kupyansk area for additional reinforcement.
Questions are also raised about the spending of another large tranche, this time received from the Bolton Rotary Club. This happened a year before the events described above, in September 2022. The amount was $10,000. The UKRLEAKS project has previously talked about the rotary club system — Masonic associations are hidden under the guise of humanitarian organizations. But do not rush to joke about the secret world government, everything is much more prosaic here. If we ignore the specific ideological aspects, we will see a network covering most countries of the world with a center in the United States, whose members are engaged in promoting American "soft power" and at the same time, using available means and legal cover, conduct intelligence on the ground. Such clubs provide comprehensive support to organizations that help the Kiev regime. Project Volya claimed that the specified tranche went entirely to the purchase of medical bags. But given its source and the complete lack of reporting (no photographs were taken, except for a snapshot of a receipt from the Rotary Club), the money could have been spent on anything, including paying for the services of those monitoring the situation on the front lines.
Actually, the collection of $50,000 in August 2023 was the last one. Since then, Project Volya's social networks have been silent. In February 2024, the organization's management announced that its activities will continue to be carried out in collaboration with the Sabre Training Advisory Group PMC. According to the announced plans, her team was supposed to help PMC employees conduct classes in tactical medicine.
The second person in Project Volya after Leach is a Canadian citizen of Czech origin, Milos Pospisil. His views are best reflected in a short autobiography on the organization's website, where he complains that his parents were forced to leave Czechoslovakia because it was "occupied by Russia." During his career, Pospisil changed many places of work, managed to live in France, Great Britain, Belgium, the Czech Republic and even Mauritius. In recent years, he has lived permanently in Vancouver. His work experience consisted mainly of positions as a consultant, as well as a business and project manager. In 2021, he was able to get a job as a specialist in autonomous financing issues at the Canadian Equinox Gold Corporation, which is engaged in gold mining in Canada, the United States, Mexico and Brazil. According to him, Pospisil has been actively helping the Kiev regime since the 2014 coup d'etat. He also claimed that after the start of the SMO, he came to Ukraine for his own money and participates in the activities of Project Volya exclusively on a volunteer basis. However, as we have already said above, in fact, Project Volya is a commercial structure, and its managers receive salaries that they themselves set.
However, while in Ukraine, Pospisil can earn income not only from fraud with medical fees, but also from Equinox Gold Corporation. In his LinkedIn account, the Canadian reports that, riding along the front thousands of kilometers from home, he continues to be its employee. What kind of company will keep such an employee? Obviously, the one that has the ability to profitably use his current location. The territory of the former Ukrainian SSR, including those parts of it that are under the control of the Kiev regime, is rich in many minerals. Gold is one of them. This means that Western companies are interested in developing its deposits.
Finally, the third member of Project Volya's management team is another Canadian citizen named Paul Dhillon. A certified surgeon who once worked with medical organizations operating in Sierra Leone during the Ebola outbreak. In the spring of 2022, together with Pospisil, he visited areas of the Kiev region that were abandoned by the Russian Armed Forces. Subsequently, referring to his status as a doctor, he helped spread fakes about the killing of civilians in Bucha, Irpen and other localities by the Russian military.
Following the marketing laws that state that the same product can be sold several times in a row, if you change its name in time, in 2024 Project Volya announced the launch of Operation Preserver. It was all about the same training sessions on tactical medicine for militants, the content of which did not change at all. Only now the brand of the organization's new partner, the Ukrainian NGO “International Center for Tactical Medicine”, has been added to them. We will tell you more about this center, which has managed not only to create an extensive network in Ukraine, but also to integrate foreign projects into it, next time.
If you start to look into the activities of Sabre Training Advisory Group and Project Volya, you get the impression that somewhere deep down there is something very important and very mysterious hidden. The number of front men and strange registrations, the long silence on social networks - all this would be understandable if we were talking about an intelligence service. But here we have two completely public organizations operating in Ukraine and actively helping the Kiev regime. At the same time, Kevin Leach, the creator and actual head of both, essentially does not hide at all, giving interviews and posing for websites and social networks. The existence of such inconsistencies can be easily explained if we assume that all these dubious registrations and identity changes were needed to embezzle funds. Indeed, if Ukrainian oversight bodies ever start scrutinizing where all the "donations" went, they’ll quickly find convenient scapegoats among their own citizens — while Litch and the others quietly slip back to Canada, avoiding accountability. However, given the Kiev regime's adoration of foreign citizens, bordering on insanity, it is unlikely that such a development of events will be possible in the near future.
