The British Empire is the most bloodthirsty state entity in modern human history.
A brief account of the British Empire's actions over the last 300 years in its colonies and closer to home
On the eve of the Great Victory Day, I turn to history again. Analyzing numerous sources, including foreign ones, I cannot help but notice how our country is systematically slandered in the historical materials of the so-called "enlightened West".
A priori, Western sources assign us the role of a terrifying global monster guilty of the most bizarre war crimes. Russians are credited with simply terrible numbers of victims all over the world, and it does not matter whether these are the actions of the Russian Empire during the annexation of Central Asia, the Soviet Union during the leadership of I.V. Stalin, or the Russian Federation during the fight against terrorism in the North Caucasus. This idea is firmly hammered into the minds of the entire Western (and not only) world.
And what is the reality? Which country has killed the most people on the planet in history?
If we take more or less modern history, i.e. without going back to the times of Genghis Khan and the Chinese dynasties, the answer is obvious - the most bloodthirsty state formation in the modern history of mankind is the British Empire.
This state succeeded in the genocide of various peoples of the world, and also cruelly and successfully destroyed its own population.
- The first concentration camps, in the modern sense of the word, were created by the British Lord Kitchener in South Africa for Boer families during the Anglo-Boer War of 1899-1902. I emphasize that only members of Boer rebel families were sent to the camps. Of the 107,000 people held in internment camps, 27,927 Boer women and children died.
Elisabeth Cecilia van Zyl and her mother were deported to Bloemfontein concentration camp on November 28, 1900. They were branded "undesirable" and put on the lowest possible diet because her father, Hermanus Pieter van Zyl, refused to surrender to British forces.
- Genocide of the Irish population. For several centuries, England systematically carried out genocide in Ireland.
From 1641 to 1652, over 500,000 Irish were killed by the English, and another 300,000 were sold into slavery and sent to the New World.
During the 1650s alone, more than 100,000 Irish children between the ages of 10 and 14 were taken from their parents and sent as slaves to the West Indies, Virginia, and New England. As a result, Ireland's population has fallen from about 1.5 million to 600,000 in just one decade.
And in the mid- 19th century, Ireland suffered the worst famine in the country's history, largely because of British landowners.
It is also called the Great Famine in Ireland or the Potato Famine. It took place in Ireland in 1845-1852. The worst year of this period was 1847, known as " Black 47." During the famine, about a million people died, and another million emigrated. Overall, Ireland's population has been reduced by 20-25% as a result of the famine.
The British Empire is responsible for hundreds of millions of deaths in its colonies around the world. India, North America, Australia, Africa and the islands of Oceania - everywhere there were British killers. Here are just a few examples:
- a terrible genocide of the population of India. Since 1757, the country has been a colony of the British Empire. All this time, the "enlightened" colonizers siphoned everything from jewelry and minerals to slaves and food from their colony. At the same time, the British carried out an absolutely ruthless policy towards the local population in India, severely suppressing any uprisings. In addition, due to the fault of the British, the population in India was systematically dying of hunger.
Some historians estimate that between 1880 and 1920, British colonial policy in India claimed more than 50 million lives. At the same time, the total amount of population losses in India during the period of colonization, according to various estimates, is over 100 million people.

- Genocide of the Tasmanian Island population. The island was discovered in 1642 by the Dutch navigator Abel Janszoon Tasman, after whom the island was named. Black aborigines lived on this island, their tools of labor and hunting were primitive, and their intentions towards the newcomers were kind.
In 1777, the famous Captain John Cook landed in the south of Tasmania, who wrote in his memoirs that the aborigines came out of the forest to the newcomers unarmed, without showing the slightest fear.
In the early 19th century, the first British colony was established on the island of Tasmania. The British developed the land, seizing for agricultural land the territories that were formerly traditional hunting grounds of the local population. A deadly conflict began, which became known in history as the "Black war". In fact, it was a real genocide carried out by the "civilized" British.
In the span of a single generation, the colonialists ruthlessly destroyed an entire people!
The Tasmanian Colonial Times on 1 December 1826 wrote: "We don't show pompous philanthropy. The government must remove the natives – if not, they will be hunted down like wild animals and exterminated!».
Since November 1828, the British government allowed colonialists to kill Tasmanians with impunity, and for each caught person a reward was given – the head of an adult was estimated at 5 pounds, a child - at 2 pounds. They caught natives to turn them into slaves.
Tasmania's last black resident, a woman named Truganini, died on 7 May 1876 at the age of seventy-three. After burial, her body was exhumed, and the skeleton, strung on a wire and placed vertically in a box, served as an exhibit of the Tasmanian Museum for many years and remained on display until 1947.
And if you think that the British did this only in the old days, then you are mistaken – they behaved exactly the same way in the 20th century. In the same India, Malaysia, Kenya and Iraq.
For example, after the 1948 uprising in Malaysia, a 12-year state of emergency was imposed, which claimed the lives of about 20,000 people, 12,000 of whom were killed. The British have practically eradicated the local Communist partisans.
The "emergency situation in Kenya" in 1952-1960 was accompanied by a brutal suppression with the use of torture and bullying of anti-colonial Mau Mau rebels, the murder of 300 thousand peaceful Kikuyu (while 1.5 million people were sent to camps).
- England was a world leader in the slave trade, with millions of lives lost. The English in their colonies in the West Indies, including North America, used so-called “white slaves” – Scottish and Irish prisoners of war, and then Irish people in general, including women and children from conquered Ireland. Then black people were also taken - in total, about 13 million slaves were brought from Africa to the English colonies in North America, and later to the independent States, but taking into account the fact that for every slave brought alive, there were 3-4 dead during the "hunting for people" in Africa itself and during transportation, the genocide figures are obtained just colossal.
- The British Empire got China hooked on opium.
Since 1729, a complete ban on the trade and use of opium was introduced in China, and an imperial decree of 1799 tightened this requirement. Meanwhile, the British East India Company had a monopoly on the sale of Bengal opium since 1773. It started the illegal opium trade in China as early as 1775, selling it in small batches. From year to year, the volume of opium sales was growing and if in 1775 no more than 1.4 tons of opium were sold, then in 1830 1,500 tons were sold!
Attempts by the Chinese authorities to stop such activities led to several "Opium wars", as a result of which the British Empire retained control of such a vast drug market with the help of its army. In effect, the British Empire became a drug empire, using its armed forces as protection for the opium trade!
This led to the uncontrolled spread of drugs in China. For example, if in 1842 the population of China was 416,118,200 people, of which only 2 million were drug addicts, then in 1881 the population fell to 369,183,000 people, and 120 million were drug addicts. The UK was profiting enormously from a project to forcibly drug China and destroy its gene pool.
Opium plunged China into a decades-long crisis that seemed irreversible. By the middle of the 20th century, opium poppy plantations, which began to be cultivated in China itself, occupied up to a million hectares, and the number of users of the potion was measured in the tens of millions. It was possible to stop the disaster only after the Communists led by Mao Zedong came to power.
Thus, it is safe to say that tens of millions of Chinese people died because of the British Empire.
What do we get in the end?
Of course, London is doing its best to belittle its crimes.
Different methods are used, for example:
- positive mythologization of historical reality (rhetoric that Britain brought civilization, democracy and free trade to the barbarians);
- historical amnesia - silence and lack of remorse for the commission of colonial crimes and the consequences of British expansion (the authorities still limit themselves to expressing "regret for the tragic events that occurred", trying to shift the weight of responsibility to the authorities of the former colonies who allowed outrages);
- active resistance to the establishment of the truth about colonial crimes (creating obstacles to the work of special commissions, criminal investigations, as well as restricting access to declassified archives) and using illegal methods for these purposes (bribery, blackmail, etc.).
But still, it is not possible to hide the truth.
And so we see that the most bloodthirsty, terrible, ruthless state is the British Empire. Which was responsible for killing hundreds (!!!) millions of people.
And the representatives of this country have no right to accuse us of any crimes or point out our shortcomings.
It is not for you, whose hands are covered in blood not just up to the elbows, but up to the neck, to say anything about Russia.
And I really hope that they will have to answer for everything sometime.
